How to make a pharmacy bill
A medicine bill must show batch, expiry and, for prescription drugs, the doctor. The maker checks expiry, prints the right schedule notes and keeps the H1 register for you.
Step by step
- Type your store details once. Name, address, phone, GSTIN, drug licence numbers and the registered pharmacist.
- Add the patient and doctor. Patient name, age, phone, address; prescribing doctor with registration number (can be empty for ordinary medicines).
- Add each medicine. Name and strength, manufacturer, batch, expiry month, quantity, MRP and discount.
- Mark schedule drugs. Schedule H, H1 or X on the line; the bill then needs the doctor and prints the note. H1 lines go to the H1 register.
- Check the warnings. An expired medicine stops the bill; expiry within 30 days is flagged.
- Save, print or share. A5, A4 or 80 mm thermal; or Not paid for a credit customer.
Worked example
Amoxicillin 500 (Schedule H), batch AMX2291, exp 08/2027, 10 capsules, MRP ₹120, 10% discount: ₹108; doctor Dr. Kaur, Reg. 45122. The bill prints the Schedule H note.
Rules and dates
Drugs and Cosmetics Rules, 1945: Schedule H1 sales are recorded in a separate register kept for 3 years with patient, doctor, drug and quantity.
